About

Web·stock [wëb–stok]
– noun, origin: 2006

Webstock ’16 is our 10th birthday. And as befits such a milestone, we are committed to making Webstock 2016 the best one yet – intensive, edifying, challenging, enlightening, exciting, delighting, celebratory and truckloads of fun.

Our brand this year reflects this intention. We commissioned special artwork from Askew One; a face (her name is Elsie, but she represents us all) looks back, reflecting on our beginnings; where we were at that time, what we were doing and how we were doing it. And the same face looks forward to the future: of the web, and of the work we as a community do, the way in which we do it, the environments in which we operate.

Webstock ’16 will be a time to look at the challenges overcome, those we’ve still to face, and the opportunities we have to make the web and the products and services we work on better.

The golden central X marks both our 10th edition and our evolution from an event with origins in the web standards movement, to our place and purpose now, at the intersection of business, technology, design and culture.

Webstock itself is a celebration of the web and its makers – the creativity, the magic, the craft and everything in between.

It features industry leaders and kick-ass speakers talking on a very wide range of topics and is attended by very possibly the most talented, charming and delightful people in the world, ever.

Recordings of past events are made available in the interests of knowledge-sharing and good web citizenship.
