DigitalNZ (www.digitalnz.org) makes New Zealand’s digital content easier to find, share, and use. It sits within National Library of New Zealand and is part of the Information and Knowledge Services (IKS) branch, the Department’s epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand.
The DigitalNZ Content Analyst helps our 200+ content partners share their digital data with the DigitalNZ service so that their digital content and data can be discovered and used by more people. This is a wide-ranging role. It is responsible for growing the quantity and quality of data discoverable through www.digitalnz.org. This means you will bring on board new partners, support our existing content partners, configure and trouble shoot metadata harvests, conduct metadata analysis, write reports, and help test our digital products as they are developed. We need someone who is great at relationship management, can easily explain complex concepts in a straight forward way, and, most importantly, has an aptitude for learning new technical skills. Experience in agile approaches and data formats such as XML and JSON would be an advantage.
