September has seemingly become BarCamp month in New Zealand.
The egovernment BarCamp on 15 September was going to be the first of its kind to be held in New Zealand, but those mainlanders down in Christchurch, not content with pilfering the Ranfurly Shield again tomorrow sigh, have snuck in with BarCamp Christchurch, to be held a week earlier on September.
Both are to be applauded, and hopefully some really good stuff will emerge at the camps.
If you’re talking first of a kind… then don’t forget SuperHappyDevHouse, the one held recently in SX bar in Wellington. http://shdh.org.nz of course. BarCamp ~= SHDH ~= FooCamp and all are loosely unconferences, and as they say, unconferences are fun conferences.
It is good to see ‘the government’ holding the ‘first’ Barcamp, how 2.0. I think i shall attend.
